To the ferry ......

We set off from John & Jenny's about 8.40, arrived in Carlisle in less than am hour, split the tandem and got the train to Newcastle.  We then cycled along the Tyne to the ferry port. Here we met up with John & Jenny who had had a lift over and bought our bags with them.  We joined the queue of bikers, but were sent to the front and were on first.
Tomorrow we are cycling to Amsterdam to get the night train to Basle.  Just hope the weather stays fine.
With Ben's gift we should fly along this route.
